Scientology Volunteer Ministers of the Scientology Church Carried Out forty Community Initiatives Across the eu newspapers Czech Republic in October
From Prague to Brno, dedicated individuals convert moral principles and care into real-world community change.
Prague, Czech Republic — October 31, 2025 — During October, the Volunteer Ministers (VMs) of the Scientology Church launched efforts across the Czechia to clean up public spaces, assist local charities, and bring a revitalized civic spirit in four key cities — Prague; Brno; Plzeň; and Pelhřimov.
In just four weeks, they executed more than forty events, mobilizing hundreds of hours of service in eco-friendly and charitable action based on L. Ron Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness”, the practical moral code authored by Hubbard.
Impact Through Unity
Each week, 15 to 20 volunteers collaborated in more than ten local projects, dedicating over 100 hours of volunteer time — plus another 100 hours for a citywide cleanup in Brno.
That one-time Brno effort collected 150 bags of litter, converting neglected grounds into accessible green space. In Plzeň, teams addressed an derelict woodland area left in unsanitary conditions after makeshift camps, removing dangerous waste with care and respect.
“These are not glamorous tasks,” one volunteer said. “But if we don’t take responsibility, who will? Every restoration is about rebuilding respect — to our environment, our neighbors, and our own sense of purpose.”
Interfaith Solidarity
The month also featured practical ecumenical partnership. The team gathered and distributed clothing donations to a local Catholic aid organization, showcasing a spirit of solidarity that rises above religious affiliation.
Ivan Arjona, the Church of Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, emphasized the broader meaning of such volunteerism:
“Helping is a universal language. Whether partnering with a religious group, a city office, or a person facing hardship, our members embody the conviction that a better society starts with individuals who care — those who choose to care and to act.”
Decades of Dedication
Created by Hubbard in the seventies, the VM initiative equips people with real-world tools to bring order and compassion in times of need. Known globally for emergency response and community programs, these yellow-shirted volunteers are currently serving in over 120 countries.
In the Czech Republic, their commitment to local action expands each year, blending effective organization with moral values. Their long-standing motto — “There’s always a solution” — speaks to community members seeking meaningful opportunities to contribute to civic life.
Living Values Every Day
Numerous Czech volunteers also distribute the “The Way to Happiness” booklet during their activities. Written as a non-religious ethics manual, it contains 21 precepts encouraging personal integrity, truthfulness, and environmental responsibility — principles reflected by the team’s regular projects.
These modest yet steady actions illustrate how ethical education and community involvement go hand in hand. “With personal accountability, communities grow more resilient and kind,” said Arjona.
Praise from Locals and Lasting Change
City officials in Prague, Brno and other cities have recognized the Volunteer Ministers’ consistent efforts. Their active involvement — from tidying walkways to caring for green spaces — has motivated residents to participate in or start their own local efforts.
A volunteer described the month perfectly: “We didn’t wait for someone else to fix it — we just started.”

What Is the Church of Scientology?
The Scientology Church is a modern faith founded by L. Ron Hubbard in 1952. It teaches that each person is a thetan, fundamentally good and capable of greater understanding and freedom through study and self-improvement.
Scientology churches and missions are present throughout the continent, where official acknowledgment as a legitimate faith continues to expand. Through awareness campaigns, prevention, and humanitarian programs — including initiatives for drug awareness, rights advocacy, literacy, and moral development — members of the Church collaborate with people and organizations across beliefs to promote dignity and peace.
